Dive into the depths in Sub Standard! Your mission is to navigate the abyss by sound alone and recover all 5 missing power cores (the glowing gold diamonds) before your sub is destroyed.

🎮 Controls:

  • Steer: Left / Right Arrow Keys
  • Thrust / Reverse: Up / Down Arrow Keys
  • Sonar Ping: Z or X — light up your surroundings (it has a cooldown, and the locals can hear it…)
  • Pause / Menu: Enter

⚠️ Beware the Depths: Leviathans hunt toward every ping they hear — listen for the growl, and if the water starts to rumble, one is right on top of you. Mines (the spiked balls) don’t move, but they don’t forgive either.

⏱️ Every run is timed and your best time is saved. Can you secure all 5 cores in one piece?

  • The game now has full audio: engine hum, sonar ping, mine explosions, leviathan growls and bites, and a win fanfare — previously silent.
  • Complete visual overhaul with a detailed vector submarine, snaking leviathans that open their jaws while hunting, spiked animated mines, and glowing rotating cores.
  • The ocean is now rendered in an extended deep-sea palette with drifting marine snow particles.
  • Proper title, death, and win screens replace placeholder text, including a surfacing cinematic when you collect all cores.
  • Your run time, pings used, and hull remaining are shown at the end of each run, with your best time saved and displayed.
  • Down arrow now fires reverse thrust, and the X button can also fire a sonar ping.
